Setup guide
Connect ChatGPT or Claude to SocialDesk
Takes about two minutes. You’ll need a SocialDesk account and a ChatGPT or Claude plan that supports custom connectors.
Server address
https://getsocialdesk.com/mcp- 1Open connector settings
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors and turn on Developer mode under Advanced if your plan requires it.
- 2Add SocialDesk
Choose Create (or Add connector), name it SocialDesk, paste the server address below, and pick OAuth as the sign-in method.
- 3Sign in
ChatGPT opens a SocialDesk window. Sign in with your own SocialDesk email and password (or Google/Apple).
- 4Approve access
Review the approval screen and click Approve. ChatGPT is now linked to your account only.
- 5Start a chat
Enable SocialDesk in a new chat and ask, for example: “What’s scheduled for River House next week?”
How approval and access work
- • Every person connects with their own SocialDesk login — there are no shared keys.
- • The assistant only sees communities that person already has access to in SocialDesk.
- • It can list communities, review recent and scheduled posts, and save captions as drafts.
- • Drafts never publish on their own. Your team still reviews and approves them in Publishing.
- • To disconnect, remove SocialDesk from the assistant’s connector settings at any time.
Troubleshooting
- I don’t see a place to add a connector.
- Custom connectors require a paid ChatGPT or Claude plan; workspace admins may need to allow them.
- The sign-in window closed without connecting.
- Allow pop-ups for the assistant, then click Connect again and finish the Approve step.
- My community isn’t listed.
- Ask your SocialDesk admin to give you access to that community, then ask again.
